6 tips for Supporting Employees with Autism
Are you curious about how you as an employer can be better at supporting your employees with autism?
We have some helpful tips that we that you might find useful.
Get to know your employees on an individual basis -ask them about themselves to understand what they like and what interests them.
Learning their strengths and things that challenge them, you can observe them to figure out what things may struggle with and excel at but asking might give you a more accurate answer.
Orient employees and training on specific duties
Create a welcoming and supportive environment- be inclusive towards their needs.
Increase existing support systems- make sure that you are aware of the types of support people need.
Give clear direction and performance feedback. This helps people with autism to understand what you expect of them
